Access. The banner, flag, of my country means I have full access as a citizen. There are many banners I can choose to fly in and over my heart, showing my allegiance. It brings confidence and comfort to my soul to consider that His banner over me is love and that His banner shows who I belong to. I may have some banners to notice and take down because they are not His banners, and I don't want to belong to these things anymore.
I was just learning about one of the names of God last week - Jehovah Nissi, "The Lord is our banner." Thank you, Valerie, for making this come alive. It's beautiful to see AND EXPERIENCE all God has for us, His daughters.
